I photographed Adam and Kara's engagement session last Wednesday in downtown Orlando. They are such a wonderful couple to work with, and they were up for anything. I had the privilege of photographing the family of a long-time client last week. Rob and Melissa brought their two children and the grandparents over for a studio and location session, where we played at a near-by park and then finished with some baby portraits of their three-month-old son, Ben. I photographed Rob and Melissa's wedding in June of 2003. I have enjoyed watching their family grow and I look forward to capturing the future stages of their lives.
Christy, James and James Jr. came over for their second "Baby's First Year" session last week. It's amazing how fast babies grow in three months. (Especially the first few months). Christy has been a featured bride in my past promotional material and will be in a full page ad of the next Central Florida Bride magazine coming out in July. It has been wonderful being a part of the family's most important moments.
Perry and Kristin met me in Winter Park recently to photograph their engagement session. We started out at Houston's Restaurant, where Perry proposed, and then headed over to Dinky Dock and finished up at the train station off Park Ave, where we just happened to catch a train coming through. Scott and Diana tied the knot April 5 at the Winter Park Civic Center. The day was coordinated by Kristy Rapp from Kristy Rapp Event Planning and Design. The beautiful ceremony ended with a butterfly release - well, sort of (the butterflies were eventually coaxed out of their box.) The couple took a break during the reception to get a few sunset shots, which turned out great since it was a picture-perfect day. To see a slideshow of their wedding images, click HERE.
Just months after their wedding, Sean and Deborah met me in Winter Park to photograph their "Fashionably Late Session." These sessions are done after the wedding day due to lack of time, a desire for a change of environment, or because the dress won't be the same afterward. The reason for the name change is because these sessions don't have to be the day after, and the dress isn't always "trashed." This session can include the bride by herself or the couple, or both.
This session is definitely not for every bride and groom. Getting back in the dress, (and tux or suit), and re-doing the hair and make-up is sometimes more than some couples care to do. But for the couples that choose to do it, the results are always worth the effort. Whether it's roaming around an historical part of town, running down a beach or jumping off a dock into a lake, these sessions are meant to be fun and relaxed. I had the privilege of photographing a fashion bridal spread at the beautiful Bella Collina for the next, upcoming issue of Central Florida Bride Magazine. Now I have been sworn to secrecy about not revealing any of the images until the issue comes out in July, but I have been given permission to share one on my blog. I had a great time with the team who made it all possible, including hair and make-up by About Face, flowers by DSR Designs and Atmospheres, and, of course, Brandi Zrallack from CFB, whom I give all credit for the "bathtub shot."
I love shooting in downtown Orlando! There are so many great opportunities there. Especially when I'm with a couple who is so natural at posing and being themselves, they make me look good. This particular couple, Steve and Dawn, were up for anything, despite Dawn's fractured heel. So we wandered around downtown Orlando, to include one of its dark alleys and down some train tracks, and got some great shots in the process. Click HERE to view a slideshow of their session.
